Photography

Photography was and still is an important part of my work.
This gallery shows personal as also fashion photography I´ve done from around 2000 until now.
When not used for stock or as reference for a painting, I try to capture life. Even dead things like the statues or buildings have so much life in them, that I would feel guilty not trying to polish that essence out of these.

But photography is more to me than just capturing a moment or thing; I always question things and I´m absolutely a Helmut Newton-antagonist when it comes to the possibility of applying darkroom power over a photograph.

To me photography is just a tool, and the postworking-thought-process is always a different one, than the thought-process-while-shooting.

Since I use to have the camera merely for stock-photography and to capture references / inspiration, I was never too focused on specs like "captures per second" or Megapixels.

This is not an excuse for denying a professional camera, I just use it as tool that is approppriate for my needs.

Since 2003 I shoot with Canon my first to mention SLR was the 300d / Rebel. I had tried different models, even Nikon, smaller and larger cameras, but finally found an adequate tool in the 550d with a EF-S 18-135mm 1:3,5-5,6 IS lens.

Below you find a BIOS pixel test image that I´have done with the camera.
